"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The
old has passed away, behold, the new has come. All this is
from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us
the ministry of reconciliation."
2 Corinthians 5:17-18
This verse, and the signs of spring, made me think of new
growth, new beginnings, new life! Not just in our gardens, but
in our League as well; particularly now when we have new members,
new ideas, new refreshing ways of doing things.
Someone has said that the world is run by people who just show
up. I think that is true, and that's exactly what Christians
and veteran support organizations are called to do--just show up and
be! Show up with our sins, our doubts, our fears, our
failures, our neediness, our laughter, our freedom, our
forgiveness...We need to show up. Growth is what happens when
we are there and are real. There will be all kinds of
questions and suggestions on how to best accomplish goals and serve
our veteran sisters and brothers; but be confident. God will
provide the answer!

A prayer for the women and men who stand in harms way:
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as
they protect us. Amen!
